What I'm loving right now, Nov. 2019


We live in a world where "trends" are ALL over the place and it can be extremely difficult to differentiate between things that are worth the money, verses trendy crap. This is a list of semi-trendy things that I personally use every single week and feel that they are worthy of your hard earned money. I've tried each and every one of these products for an extended period of time and can confidently vouch for their greatness!

Nutpods

1. Non-dairy creamer

Anyone who follows me on instagram (@SimplyNikiBBlog) knows good and well that I've been a committed Nutpods consumer for 3+ years. I'm not dairy-free by any means. I love cheese. L-O-V-E cheese. I don't see myself giving up dairy anytime soon (ever), unless mandated by a doctor. But, here's the thing, most store-bought coffee creamers are laden with sugar (check your labels for dextrose, folks) and all sorts of questionable ingredients, such as: carrageenan, corn syrup, hydrogenated soybean, maltodextrin, artificial flavors, dipotassium phosphate, etc. the list goes on and on. If this was really about dairy, we wouldn't have a problem... but it's not. And I do. I don't want all of that^ in my body, at all, but especially not every single morning. I prefer not to start my day with a surge of questionable ingredients and a blood sugar spike by 6:30am. Here's how I came to love Nutpods. It's one of, if not THE cleanest non-dairy creamer on the market. There's no added sugar, and the ingredient list has less than eight commas, always. The taste is awesome and there are so many great flavors now (I love pumpkin spice and cinnamon most). Nutpods are also Whole30 approved. This is huge. The Whole30 standards are no joke and after I saw that, I was hooked. Instagram blogger, Jacob Heath, has a discount code for Nutpods on their website, JACOBLHEATH. Maybe someday I'll have my own code to offer readers. ;)

Walmart Grocery Pick-up

2. Grocery pick-up

Here's the deal, I love grocery shopping. It's like my own form of therapy. However, wandering the aisles of Whole Foods leads to my putting 85 things into the cart that I don't need and skyrocketing our weekly grocery bill. This is where grocery pick-up comes in. For now, this is what works for us. We save so much money because it's super easy to just add all the things we've previously purchased into our cart each week, so the basics are covered right off the bat. And, as I add things I can see how much our total is increasing each time. I try to stay under $80.00 every week and by using the app I can go back and take out unnecessary things to get back to around that amount. I also love that I can shop sales more easily. The app highlights weekly sale items. Pick-up is super easy, you just choose a time slot the following day and drive on up, easy peasy. This is really working for us right now. I still love grocery shopping but for convenience and budget sake we'll be using grocery pick-up until the wedding is over, at least. Ha!

3. Oil training / Dry Shampoo

Do you follow @JasmineRaeHairCo on Insta yet? Go, now. She's funny and has a super cute family, but most importantly, she's helping women, like me, learn to train their oily hair to last longer in between washes. I used to wash my hair every other day (or every single day if I had something fancy to go to). It, for lack of better words, mega sucked! Since following Jasmine and finding a dry shampoo that does actually work for me, I can now go 6-10 days in between washes and my hair is longer and healthier than ever before. This is life-altering. Anyone with super oily hair will understand. Trust me, follow her, and keep trying dry shampoo's until you find one that works for you. 4. Listening instead of reading

Yes, I'm talking about Audible and podcasts, folks. At this point, I feel like most people know that these things exist and that you no longer have to carve out time in your already insane day to sit and read a physical book, anymore. BUT, just in case, YOU DON'T HAVE TO CARVE OUT TIME IN YOUR ALREADY INSANE DAY TO SIT AND READ A PHYSICAL BOOK ANYMORE. This is a game-changer. I walk my dog while listening, I drive to work while listening, I fold laundry while listening, the possibilities are endless. Don't be like me and brush off the idea of "podcasts" for months. There are a million free apps and it's so easy and convenient. Try it. Become a multi-tasking #QUEEN like me. Disclaimer, there really is no feeling like sitting and holding a physical book, and I do wish I had more time for it, but right now, listening to books is reminding me why I loved reading in the first place. And that, my friends, is a win.
