Can I really become a smoothie person..?


Well, we're going to find out. So far, I have conjured up some winners and some pour it down the drain so quick it's like it never happened-ers. So here's what I've learned about smoothies thus far:

Ice = Watery

Solution: Freeze your fruits and veggies so that you don't need much ice to make it frozen. I like to buy big bunches of bananas and freeze 90% of them for smoothies. Also, if you have any leftover fruit that's on the verge of rotting, I go ahead and slice that up and freeze it too. No waste here!

Fruit = Sugar

Solution: Yes, fruit is good for you, like GEEZ... just when we thought we were being good they tell us to cut out fruit. Well don't go throwin' out all the bananas just yet... but instead incorporate them in moderation for sweetness. We don't want our bodies to depend on high levels of natural or processed sugar, so try to incorporate steamed (helps with digestion) veggies as a base in your smoothies, too.

10/10 recommend steamed, then frozen, zucchini.

So, here's two of my favorite smoothie recipes so far.

Chocolate:

1 Frozen Ripe Banana or 1 Quater Frozen Banana + 1 Cup Frozen Steamed Zucchini

1 Handful Frozen or Fresh Spinach

1.5 Cups So Delicious Dairy Free Coconut Milk

1-2 Tbsp Organic Maple Syrup

1 Tsp Cinnamon

1 Tbsp Bulletproof Brain Octane (MCT Oil)

1 Scoop Collagen Peptides

2 Tbsp Sunfood Raw Organic Cacao Powder

(Handful of ice if desired)

Cinnamon Bun:

1 frozen Ripe Banana

1 Cup Old Fashioned Rolled Oats

1 Tbsp Cinnamon

1 Tbsp Organic Maple Syrup or Brown Sugar

1 Cup Silk Cashew Milk or Vanilla Greek Yogurt

Cinnamon Bun Smoothie
